Hello. I am e.n.d. Once upon a time I came from Minnesota. But then I moved everywhere.

Curiosity didn't kill the cat. Complacency did.

Of the five times I’ve seen DJ Shadow live, the first was in April 1997 at First Ave in Minneapolis, MN with Latryx. After listening to the relatively-recently released Endtroducing…. for months on repeat, our 17-year old rat pack singled out Building Steam with a Grain of Salt as the favorite track. And as much as we could that night, we silenced the audience around us, determined as hell, to suck in every second of that track live.

How come no one has yet used this for a film soundtrack, I have no idea.

Slam. Still my favorite.

Producing:

From listening to records I just knew what to do.
I mainly tought myself.
And, you know, I did pretty well…
Except there were a few mistakes.
That um, that I made, uh.
That I’ve just recently cleared up.

And I’d like to just continue to be able to express myself,
As best as I can with this instrument.
And I feel like I have a lot of work to do.
Still, you know, I’m a student, of the drums.
And I’m also a teacher of the drums, too.

Somehow over the past 14 years, I managed to miss this. Thanks Ario

I first saw DJ Shadow live in what was practically a closet in 1997. He was one of the first to change my ears when it came to paying attention to sampling.

And for a bit there in the beginning, he was my trip-hop version of Radiohead.
